Writing from 2025
Big year of chagen—I left my long-standing position at Axios HQ and joined Recidiviz.
I wrote two blog posts that hit the front page of Hacker news and went viral for a bit:
- OpenAI Charges by the Minute, So Make the Minutes Shorter • This one got stayed on the frontpage for a long time and got quite a bit of readership!
- More dynamic cronjobs • This one didn't get quite as high, but still found its way to the front for a little while. Surprised me given it was shared nearly 3 months after I'd written it.
I also spoke again for the first time since 2019 (!!) at LeadDev on engineering leadership and engineering management. The video is around I'm sure, but my succinct post here on engineering management is probably more focused and cogent.
