Tyke is like a scratchpad for your computer

This is a short post just to promote a tiny piece of software I found via Twitter called Tyke. It’s basically a scratchpad that lives in the menubar on your Mac.
I used to rely heavily on TextMate for all my quick note-taking needs. It’s lightweight and fast and gets the job done just fine. Recently I switched to Microsoft Visual Studio Code after noticing how many people seemed to be using it at all the JavaScript conferences I’ve spoken at this year. It’s funny — I’m finding advantages using it as my primary IDE, but I find it cumbersome and unwieldy to use for a quick text file note, and opening up TextMate just to take notes feels silly when I have VSC already open.
Tyke is a great solution!
