Woody Guthrie and Old Man Trump; History Does Repeat Itself

I'm late to this story, which seemed to surface around a year ago on the Washington Post, but evidently Woody Guthrie wrote a song about Donald Trump's Father.

He never recorded it as far as I can tell, though you can find plenty of other people doing their own rendition on YouTube, including this one by Ryan Harvey featuring Ani DiFranco & Tom Morello.

The lyrics can be found on woodyguthrie.org which contains a lot of lyrics to unrecorded Woody Guthrie songs. Reminds me that some of my favorite albums ever recorded — Bill Bragg & Wilco's Mermaid Avenue series — were from unrecorded Woody Guthrie lyrics.

Amazing that a good, socially-conscious protest song from over sixty years ago would be more relevant today.
