Truly Helpful Tech

My friend sent me this video about a low-cost approach to eye-tracking software to help a man with cerebral palsy. It was a good reminder that, in this epoch of ephemeral startup culture that often makes me question my career in "tech" there is lost of truly helpful, truly magical and amazing tech being worked on that have nothing to do with photo sharing, making restaurant reservations or buying sprouted almonds at Whole Foods with my phone:
