Woody Guthrie and Old Man Trump; History Does Repeat Itself

I'm late to this story, which seemed to surface around a year ago on [the Washington Post](https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2016/01/22/the-unbelievable-story-of-why-woody-guthrie-hated-donald-trumps-racist-dad/?utm_term=.fce1cd74ce45#comments), but evidently Woody Guthrie wrote a song about Donald Trump's Father.

He never recorded it as far as I can tell, though you can find plenty of other people doing their own rendition on YouTube, including [this one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkwEIuTFBgA "Old Man Trump") by Ryan Harvey featuring Ani DiFranco & Tom Morello.

Reminds me that some of my favorite albums ever recorded — [Bill Bragg & Wilco's Mermaid Avenue](http://amzn.to/2j5YJoC) series — were from unrecorded Woody Guthrie lyrics.

Amazing that a good, socially-conscious protest song from over sixty years ago would be *more* relevant today.
